My New Etching Press

This is a Blick 999 Model II Etching Press which is so far so good. Nothing like running plates through the custom made floor model Griffin at school but I am pretty sure this makes me the coolest guy on my street. Much cooler than that guy with the mullet and an old T-Bird.

You should probably write your art history paper instead of updating this thing, because I don't have time to keep up!

You are so right about that.

First, that officially makes you the coolest kid in the STATE...I've thought about getting one of those for my class just so I can use it...that was one of my favorite college classed.

Second...that pen holder is wild...does the angle of the head vs. the stem cause writing issues?

So true, I am finally cool.

Every student should have access to one of these presses you know. You would really be hurting them if you didn't run out and buy one for them right now!

I actually made the pen for crosshatching only. When I crosshatch I usually swing the nib away from me and I am hoping that the new angle would relieve snagging issues on some rougher papers because it should actually turn the nib so it is almost being pulled.

I don't know if any of that made sense. I will have to post a video of it in action.
