Happy Birthday LaToya!

I don't know why I try to recreate scenes like this. I am always extra disappointed (as opposed to my usual disappointment). It is supposed to be Nancy Grace of CNN but it pretty much looks like mud.

I don't actually know LaToya. She is a friend of my sister-in-law and at my sister-in-laws birthday party made a request for a birthday card. The second hand info that I was given on LaToya was that she like her GPS and is obsessed with CNN. It is fun to imagine somebody walking around with a GPS and watching CNN on a portable tv and mumbling to herself. I just think that it is funny what first flashes through our minds when we are asked, "What is so and so like?" GPS and CNN. Heheheeee...even funnier when I find out that she was just accepted to Harvard and has already been a school principle. But she like GPS and CNN.

Ammon,

You looked through my whole blog? Wow, that is quite a feat. Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate the time you took looking at my blog.

I get excited when I use up a pen too. Sometimes I have to keep working until a pen is gone, especially if it is low. I am pretty crazy that way. ;)

I do still life drawings, but I get frustrated at them way to easily. I am way too much of a perfectionist and if something doesn’t go right in a drawing of something “real” then I get down on myself pretty easily. If a nose looks out of whack on a person then I feel like scrapping the whole thing.

Your work is particularly inspiring to me, because of this. If your nose gets a bit big, it seems to add to the charm of the drawing. I never feel like that happens for me. I feel I’ve botched the whole thing. I guess this is why I do so many abstracts. I have the freedom to make them look how I want. If a triangle gets a little botched and bigger than it should be, it doesn’t seem so wrong to me. Does that make sense?

I am working my way through your blog, leaving little comments as I go. Hopefully not too many, I swear I’m not a stalker.

Take Care!!
