I have no idea what these are.

The New Sketchbook

Illustration Friday: "Snap"

I am always a little worried about snapping a drawing pen in half (or dropping it, etc.) so this is a quick self portrait of that happening.

This is also the last page of a sketchbook and this was my fastest one yet: I opened it on February 7th (of this year) and finished it today.

Thanks for all of your extremely kind and generous comments over this last week.

Editorial Cartoon

This is a cartoon for Messiah College's newspaper. We have a common chapel every Tuesday. This last Tuesday the speaker asked that we turn off our cell phones (and any other potential distraction). While I do not think it is polite to do work during chapel (which does happen, laptops, text books etc.) but I don't think that should be the focus. When students think that it is a waste of time they will not pay attention and this should be addressed. Speak (and get speakers) that can speak to students and they will listen.

This is the second of two cartoons submitted this week. One was rejected. You can see both at the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists website.

Bird Nest

I wake up like this.

Baptism at LCBC

This weekends service at LCBC (Lancaster County Bible Church) was baptizing time. Good stuff but they turn down the lights. I can't letter in the dark.

Illustration Friday: "Total"

This is Sir Isaac Newton displaying one tiny part of the results that his work opened the way to understanding.

This is my fourth post to Illustration Friday. Your critiques are welcome. Thanks for looking and for sharing all of your work.

Card and Wing Night

Saturday night was chicken wings and cards with some great friends. I actually drew during the game because I am pretty bad at any card game.

Odd Things

These are sketches from this week that I was too lazy to scan in until now.

The New Worship Guy: LCBC

There is a new worship leader at Lancaster County Bible Church (LCBC). He has been here for a few weeks but I cannot remember his name. He can sing like no ones business. I wish that I had photos of more of the worship team to draw all of them together.

I drew while Pastor Keith Walker spoke on sinners helping sinners. LCBC has some incredibly creative people and I can only imagine their brainstorming sessions. Each and every pastor is awesome. I am not sure why Messiah College cannot just bring in people like this for the chapels; they keep bringing in people that have some crumby book to bore us to death.

Anyway, the point is that the worship team is awesome each and every week.

It Is Over (Almost)

Tomorrow spring break begins at Messiah College. Only two tests and three classes until it is over (for nine days).

That wire was supposed to be a tail.

The Bending Man

He was not supposed to bend but I ran out of room on the page in my sketchbook and I wanted him to have legs.

Editorial Cartoon

This is a cartoon for the student paper at Messiah College. I am poking fun at the poor email service that the college uses.

Singing in the Snow

This was on some old notes that I was going through.
