Moleskin Exchange

Ateliers Jean Prouvé

This sketch was made a couple of months ago in the Museum of Modern Art in NYC for an essay. The table was designed by Ateliers Jean Prouvé.

On The Way to Baltimore

I have been blessed with the ability to read or draw while traveling in a vehicle without finding myself carsick. This sketch is from a recent trip to Baltimore where artist Daniel Finch opened his show at Baltimore's MAP gallery.

My New Etching Press

This is a Blick 999 Model II Etching Press which is so far so good. Nothing like running plates through the custom made floor model Griffin at school but I am pretty sure this makes me the coolest guy on my street. Much cooler than that guy with the mullet and an old T-Bird.

Object For Hand Project: Pen Holder

In Mr. Ted Prescott's class, Form, Space, & Media we were given the assignment to carve an object for the hand. This is pen holder that I created. I will give it whirl as soon as this semester is finished.

The wood is walnut.

Mr. Ted Prescott is a sculptor and professor at Messiah College. You can see his work here.

Hare Accuses Tortoise

Everyone Loves A Monkey On A Bike

...except for the guy that has to clean the seat off.

Mr. Ted Prescott In Color

Nathean Is Rad...

...and one person that I don't mind sketching while right in front of him. I don't know why that is.

Sage At 19

He is two right now so be sure to check back in 17 years for the update.

A rough idea for an illustration assignment.
Kudos to those that catch the typo. A classmate actually pointed it out to me after which I quit the sketch. The plan was for the sugar to say to the creamer, "sugar?". The creamer would then answer, "no, I am creamer." Awesome, I know.

Even More Sketchbook Pages

I am pushing myself to draw from life a bit more often. Hence the chair.

The rest is just your average everyday gunfighter, sleepwalker, smoker, and my future hairdo.

More Sketchbook Pages

Just a few pages from a sketchbook: people in Borders and in a restaurant, etc.

More Tortoise and Hare

I don't know why I find this particular duo so much fun to sketch. Anyway, you should expect to see more.

Quick Sketches In NYC

Drawing In Class

On top is a sketch from Art Seminar with Mr. Ted Prescott which was created after a pop-quiz that I am somehow never really prepared for. That day resulted in zero. I am so brilliant.

On the bottom is Mr. Ed Knippers, the painter that also makes woodblock prints. He was a guest "lecturer" for Mr. Don Forsythe's intaglio class. He actually carved a woodblock and proofed it as we watched, took notes, and asked questions.

Random Sketches

Nathean and Isaiah

My new nephew and my brother-in-law Nathean. I am sure that Nathean would like me to say that he does not actually look this glum or stern.

From The Church Sketchbook (Catching Up)

Rich Stearns of World Vision spoke at LCBC a few weeks ago. A sketch of Senior High Pastor John Wilkinson from even longer ago and Pastor Keith Walker from this last weekend. The pistol is not really relevant.

Sketchbook

More cow skulls, randomness, and tortoise and the hare.

From The Church Sketchbook

The LCBC series "Ask" continues with a message from Pastor Keith Walker who talked about sacrifice and making a difference.
